Web Content Manager / Editor - Contract Position

We seek the services of an individual who will develop content management strategies for a federal government website. Content strategies will incorporate information architecture, style, branding, and performance issues, as well as audience interest. You will advise staffs and support offices in both group and one-on-one settings. Major responsibilities include customer interface to acting as a liaison between offices. Specific duties include advising on information architecture, user interfaces, solution options, and writing and editing content. Contractor will work closely with management, communications team, and other organizations as needed. Other duties as assigned by Management.

Key traits include:

  • Knowledgeable of Web content management, Web technologies, Web usability, portal technology, document management, and search engine technologies
  • Knowledge of wireless Web technologies, XML standards, 508 compliance, portal technology, document management, search engine technologies, and electronic news services a plus
  • Experienced in leading Web project teams
  • Knowledgeable in of industry best practices for Web content management
  • Five or more years professional experience writing and editing for the Web

Microsoft Web Application Developer
There are both full-time and part-time positions available.

The positions available will be part of a team of web application developers working with the latest state-of-the-art Microsoft technologies to develop and enhance our internal and external web applications as well as provide support for our customers. This position requires one or more years experience in the development of custom multi-tiered web applications including conceptual design, development, testing, documentation, and initial deployment. Applicant should have strong interpersonal and motivational skills as well as the requisite organizational and technical skills.

Applicant should be able to demonstrate a history of success with an emphasis on achieving specific goals and delivering on deadline and should be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

The ideal applicant will have a strong programming background and be experienced in developing highly scalable multi-user web applications with Microsoft tools and technologies including Visual Studio 2003, MS SQL Server 2000, Microsoft.NET 1.1, IIS and should be proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Good user-interface and graphical design skills are a plus. Developing n-tier web applications using HTML, JavaScript, C# and SQL. Experience developing ASP.NET Web Services and Mobile Web Applications are a plus. Appropriate accredited degree, Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) certification or verifiable experience is required.

Web Producer - Telecommute Position

The web producer is a front-end developer role in our organization. You will work with a team of developers building internal and external web applications as well as providing support for our customers. This individual will handle building web applications, slicing layered Photoshop files, composing HTML/CSS, creating applications using Flash, creating PDF documents and creating dynamic content templates. Troubleshooting is a required skill set. Documentation, communication, project management, and flash development are all skills valued in this role.

Requirements and Pluses:

  • Must reside in the U.S. and be a U.S Citizen, or authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be set-up to telecommute. Requires high-speed connection to the Internet, as well as Fax receiving/sending capability
  • Experience with Macromedia Flash development
  • Experience with Adobe PDF document creation and management
  • 3+ years of web development, including DHTML/CSS, JavaScript and .NET/ASP/JSP/PHP or similar scripting experience
  • Experience in developing scalable multi-user web applications with Microsoft tools and technologies including Visual Studio and MS SQL Server 2000
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work with all members of a project team
  • Must be extremely organized, executing work according to strict processes and guidelines
  • Must be organized and capable of tracking many issues simultaneously
  • Moderate project management experience
  • Flash action scripting a plus
  • Knowledge of PDF creation and writing code that adheres to Section 508 guidelines is a PLUS

Regional Fire Program Specialist

The purpose of this government contractor's position is to provide support for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program and other associated programs through planning, implementation, monitoring and analysis activities as outlined by the AFG program office.

Regional Fire Program Specialist must have the ability:

  • To communicate effectively in writing and orally
  • To utilize an on-line grants management system
  • To coordinate program activities with federal, state, and local government officials and individuals in the private sector
  • To implement and maintain program activities relating to the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program
  • To serve as a technical reviewer in support of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program application review process
  • To coordinate and conduct site visits and monitoring activities in support of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program
  • To plan and execute work
Candidates must have:
  • Ability to express complex, controversial, and technical ideas, concepts, and observations, unmistakably and succinctly, in various venues and to diverse audiences.
  • Writing ability sufficient for producing reports and other documents that render complex technical information into a form that is relatively easy to understand.
  • Ability to effectively communicate by telephone and e-mail and clearly explain the AFG program and provides basic technical information related to those programs.
  • Ability to effectively deal with customers seeking information and basic assistance related to the AFG.
  • Ability to properly file and store paperwork related to the program. Basic data entry skills (keyboarding/typing). Fundamental skills in computers and information technology (i.e. ability to use basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office) independently.
  • Valid driver's license.
